dear mother and father,[break][break]

i’m writing to you to let you know i’m still alive. i never once pictured that i would be leaving kanto behind— but orders are orders, and my debt has seemingly not been paid in full.[break][break]

it is not your fault that i belong to team rocket now, it is mine. if i could leave, i would.. but that would only end in misfortune for both you and i. it is why i disappeared all those years ago, even though i never left. if you knew that, it would have brought misfortune all the same.[break][break]

i am one of those sent to aide in the upcoming war efforts in hoenn. i have always been one to oppose war, but orders are not easily disobeyed. things can be taken without bloodlust, by pulling strings.. and they have been. but all hands are required to be placed on deck— and i wish for mine to not be bloodied like the rest of my peer’s have been.[break][break]

i have never killed, only have i been the catalyst for another. i believe in peace just as you always had— your teachings have never failed me. all but those that taught me to never fall into a trap.[break][break]

but i did- and in all these years, i’ve been branded a complete bitch. the name ‘perra’ was given to me because of the coldness i’d shown. my past whimsy has faded into daggers, even in the shadow of my hearth and forge.[break][break]

i wish to shed that armor, but it’s so hard to— i’m cold so they don’t see it. i’m mean to those around me, a vindictive twit, so they don’t know how much sadness i feel. how much guilt and shame that came with having a pure heart while holding onto such an unpure title.[break][break]

it releases with the blowing of my glass, the licking of the forge, but not nearly enough. they let me indulge in my hobbies with a cost- and the numbness never lasts.[break][break]

i hope i still can, too, when the world ends.. right by your side as i did when i was young. even if i wish i was never skilled in forging— or wielding my glass weaponry. it’s my only value, now.[break][break]

i’m sorry i failed you. never blame yourself.[break][break]
